Valencia CF and Morocco have joined forces to support the African country in the wake of the earthquake tragedy of the past few days. Valencia CF corporate director, Javier Solís, the director of the VCF Foundation, Inmaculada Ibáñez, and Valencia CF legend and Club ambassador, Ricardo Arias, received the Moroccan Consul, Said Idrissi El Bouzidi, in the VIP Box at the Camp de Mestalla during the Valencia CF - Atlético de Madrid match. In addition, a minute's silence was held just before kick-off.
Thanks to Valencia CF
"I want to thank Valencia CF for the invitation to attend this game. It's a very nice gesture for my country and a show of solidarity and brotherhood. It shows that the Valencian people are with us at this difficult time for Morocco".
Meeting with Amallah
"It was nice to meet Amallah. It's the first time I've met him here. It was a good surprise organized by the club. It was nice and we'll keep in contact. We're also here to help him if he needs anything from us, because he's our compatriot".
The Mestalla
"The stadium seems really nice. It's got an old fashioned, historic touch to it".
Aid to Morocco
"We thank them for all of the acts that they have undertaken in recent weeks. We've received many calls and letters of condolence. There are also many charities who have offered their support, working together to find the best channels to deliver the help that is necessary".
Valencia CF and Matchwornshirt have launched a charity auction where Valencia CF fans can bid for the shirts worn by Valencia CF players in the Valencia CF - Atlético de Madrid match.
As a show of support and help for those affected by the earthquake in Morocco and the floods in Libya, the VCF Foundation decided to donate the funds raised to the NGO Farmamundi.
